Cried - Candice Glover

The Experience: I've done my part, but you haven't. I tried to be the girl that never complains, but holding it in is driving me insane. Sooner or later it's got to come out. We've got to cry, even if our tears go unnoticed...

The Video: The video depicts a woman with an abusive husband. The scenes play with gestures of love and affection (he kisses her on the forehead when the baby is born) and violence: upseting the table and the wife's later appearance with a black eye. It ends tragically with their separation. She leaves the wedding ring in hi hand as he sleeps and kisses him on the forehead with flashbacks to his kiss before. It definitely expresses well the emotion and suffering behind this song.

My Take: Crying is part of life. Holding it in only increases the pain, and there comes a time when we need to let out. Perhaps that's what Candice is doing with this song. We all have to confront and recognize our hurt and our challenges in life. That's the only path to growth. But we also need someone to hear us.

Ask Yourself: Do I avoid confronting the difficulties in my life, or am I able to cry and look for help where I can find it?

LYRICS:

There's nothing left
'Cause you took it all
I hope to fly
But you make me fall
And I'm tired, oh I
I kept a smile for all those years
But I'm so sick of finding my tears
I'm so tired, oh I

And I'm, am I waiting?
No more holding it in

So I cried, and I cried
And I cried, and I cried

So I cried, for all of the pain that you brought
And I cried, for all of the heart ache you caused
I tried to be the girl that never complains
But holding it in is driving me insane
So I cried, oh I cried

I'm on a limb
And I'm 'bout to jump
I gave it all
But you gave me none

And I'm tired, oh I
Down inside, feel it coming now
I wanna but I kissed, I'm now
And I'm tired, oh I

And I'm, am I waiting?
No more holding it in

So I cried, and I cried
And I cried, and I cried

This is for every time I let it go
All of the nights I spent alone
It's been too hard to hold back the pain
So like the cloud let it fall like the rain
Yes I'm gon' make a sound
'Cause I'm crying out loud

So I cried, for all of the pain that you brought
And I cried, for all of the heart ache you caused (caused)
I tried to be the girl that never complains
But holding it in is driving me insane
So I cried, and I cried
And I cried, and I cried
I Cried, and I cried
And I cried, and I cried
I Cried, and I cried
And I cried, and I cried
