Beautiful Times - Owl City ft. Lindsey Stirling

The Experience: Owl City comes back to life with Beautiful Times,  an electrosmooth about ordinary struggles "this part of my life is so hard!" but also coming through to see the wonder of living "these are beautiful times!"
The finish isn't a climax, but, like its message, trails off with "Love you dearly, but I'm clearly destined to wander."
Official Video: Using some of the toys from the Fireflies music video, magic no longer comes from within Owl City's keyboard. This time it flies in the window and lifts, rather than makes the toys come alive. Hidden deep within the toy house are Adam and Lindsey...
There's two meanings in Beautiful Times' video: the first is "we all suffer, but we recover" - Owl City's back, kinda like he was in Fireflies, kinda new. The second meaning is what the kid discovers: if you look deep inside the ordinary, you'll find beauty. Everyday is full of Beautiful Times.

The Meaning of Owl City's Beautiful Times is "we all suffer but we recover." Adam's struggles are listed with the lines "When did the sky turn black?" and "my life is so hard!" All of his lines talk about normal pains and normal people (cab driver, blood brother), imaginatively described (words like: vampire, spellbound, lighthouse)  Then he gives us hope with lines like "I'm gonna survive." "The sun starting to rise." When the sky clears over a "healing heart", we see each day "these are beautiful times!"
Adam  says  about his song: "Deeply subjective and personal,... the essence of the track offers the idea that life is wonderful despite the burdens and afflictions that seek us out. It is an anthem for those who search for strength to rise above hardship."
Like his hit Fireflies, Owl City helps us rediscover the simple joys of "life where we all are."

Ask Yourself: Do I see the beautiful in these times?

LYRICS:
A spot soaring
Down through the pouring
Rain and restoring
Life to the lighthouse
A slow motion wave on the ocean
Stirs my emotion
Up like a raincloud

When did the sky turned black?
And when will the light come back?

A cab driver turned to skydiver,
Then to survivor, dying to breakdown
A blood brother, surrogate mother
Hugging each other, crying their eyes out

When did the sky turn black?
And when will the light come back?
I'm ecstatic like a drug addict
Locked in the attic
Strung out and spellbound

I fought all through the night
Oh, oh, but I made it alive
The sun starting to rise
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times

This part of my life is so hard,
So hard, so hard,
But I'm gonna survive!
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times!

A bad feeling
Burnt through the ceiling
Leaving my healing heart with a new scar
A dead fire rose and rose higher
Like a vampire up from the graveyard

When did the sky turn black?
And when will the light come back?!
We all suffer but we recover
Just to discover life where we all are

I fought all through the night
Oh, oh, but I made it alive
The sun starting to rise
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times

This part of my life is so hard,
So hard, so hard,
But I'm gonna survive!
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times!

This part of my life is so hard,
So hard, so hard
But I'm gonna survive
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times!

This part of my life is so hard,
So hard, so hard
But I'm gonna survive
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times!

My heart's burning bad and it's turning black
But I'm learning how to be stronger
And sincerely I love you dearly
Oh, but I'm clearly destined to wander
