Seasons - Olly Murs

The Experience: I know that you don't trust me, but I'm better than the stories about me. Everybody messes up some days... He cheated on you, and now he's back. Sorry? Still loving? To be trusted? What does your heart say? What does your head say? How can you know?

Music video: Olly Murs strides out of his bedroom singing Seasons, leaving behind his wife, and the woman he just cheated on her with. He dances through the set, going from winter, to the bar where he met the other woman, to fall, to summer evening with his wife, through thunderstorm, and finally to a beautiful spring evening where the song ends. Or begins? You're not sure whether the whole video is just a flashback to better times, or hope for reconciliation and forgiveness. The seasons are winding back, but Olly and his girl seem to be slowly making up.

The Meaning of Seasons: Olly Murs sings the repentant cheater who wants forgiveness. He acknowledges his slip up, and the fact that he's destroyed her happiness - broken her smile. He promises eternal love - winter, summer, spring and fall. He says he can be trusted - I'm better than this story about me. He says he figured out where he belongs - right by her side. He says that the head can go wrong. That she should trust her feelings. But there's a false note in his confidence that she'll call him - I'll be on the line waiting for your call. As if he were better than she deserved. As if she couldn't do without him. As if he's not the one who destroyed her life. What should she do? Seasons doesn't say.

Ask yourself: Should you forgive everything? Are there limits? Should you be willing to offer love to someone who's already been proved unworthy of it?

LYRICS:

Listen honey, to every word I say
I know that you don't trust me
But I'm better than the stories about me
Everybody messes up some days
Ain't got no rhyme or reason
All I know is I'm yours, yours, yours for every season

Baby girl with the broken smile
Would you mind if I stayed awhile
And if you're cold I could light your fire
If that's what you want, if that's what you want
I admit that I've done some wrong
But those wrongs helped me write this song
And through it all I figured out where I belong
Right by your side, right by your side

They say that hearts don't lie
The head might try but it won't be right
Ya tell me what you feel inside
Tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight

Listen honey, to every word I say
I know that you don't trust me
But I'm better than the stories about me
Everybody messes up some days
Ain't got no rhyme or reason
All I know is I'm yours, yours, yours for every season

Baby girl let your hair hang down
And if we're lost, baby let's get found
And when your world is flipping upside down
Let's make it right, let's make it right

They say that hearts don't lie
The head might try but it won't be right
Ya tell me what you feel inside
Tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight

Listen honey, to every word I say
I know that you don't trust me
But I'm better than the stories about me
Everybody messes up some days
Ain't got no rhyme or reason
All I know is I'm yours, yours, yours for every season
Yours, yours, yours for every season

Winter, summer, spring and fall
I'll be on the line waiting for your call
Winter, summer, spring and fall
I'll be on the line waiting for your call
Winter, summer, spring and fall
I'll be on the line waiting for your call

Listen honey, to every word I say
I know that you don't trust me
But I'm better than the stories about me
Everybody messes up some days
Ain't got no rhyme or reason
All I know is I'm yours, yours, yours for every season
For every season
