Can't Feel My Face - The Weeknd

The Experience: Don't worry about it, don't worry no more! Drugs offer escape from the pain, but they also force you to escape from everything that matters, and from any hope of a better tomorrow...

Music video: The Weeknd sings on stage at a night club. The crowd crowd is less than sympathetic and begins to throw things at Tesfaye just after a skeletal old man - the same one who will be revealed to be the devil at the end of The Hills - sits down at a solitary table. The glam finally ends in tragedy when he goes up in flames, literally. The old man throws a zippo lighter onstage, and Tesfaye catches fire. At first everyone accepts it as a showy part of the act - Abel Tesfaye himself keeps dancing - but as the video winds down he staggers offstage and out the door. He burns to death out on the street.

The Meaning of Can't Feel My Face: The Weeknd offers a poignant song about drugs, represented by the girl in the song. You think you'll never find love or meaning - she told me "You'll never be in love". And drugs offer an escape - she told me "Don't worry about it... don't worry no more". But that escape is no replacement for real life. It only leaves you numb instead of alive. You will die young - at least we'll both be beautiful and stay forever young... I know she'll be the death of me. And the price of every high is giving up who you are - I can't feel my face when I'm with you.

Ask yourself: Where can you find love and meaning when you're at your lowest?

LYRICS:

And I know she'll be the death of me, at least we'll both be numb
And she'll always get the best of me, the worst is yet to come
But at least we'll both be beautiful and stay forever young
This I know, (yeah) this I know

She told me, "Don't worry about it"
She told me, "Don't worry no more"
We both knew we can't go without it
She told me "You'll never be in love" oh oh oooh

I can't feel my face when I'm with you, but I love it, but I love it
I can't feel my face when I'm with you, but I love it, but I love it

And I know she'll be the death of me, at least we'll both be numb
And she'll always get the best of me, the worst is yet to come
All the misery was necessary when we're deep in love
This I know, yes I know, and I know

She told me, "Don't worry about it"
She told me, "Don't worry no more"
We both knew we can't go without it
She told me you'll never be in love oh oh oooh

I can't feel my face when I'm with you, but I love it, but I love it
I can't feel my face when I'm with you, but I love it, but I love it
(x2)

She told me, "Don't worry about it"
She told me, "Don't worry no more"
We both knew we can't go without it
She told me you'll never be in love oh oh oooh

I can't feel my face when I'm with you, but I love it, but I love it
I can't feel my face when I'm with you, but I love it, but I love it
