Don't Wanna Know - Maroon 5 ft. Kendrick Lamar

The Experience: The more I drink the more I think about you. Oh no, no, I can't take it... You lost her because you tried to buy her love instead of earning it. And instead of learning, you keep trying to find love and happiness in the same places...

Music video: Maroon 5 are Pokemon Go characters, always on the run from fans who want to capture them. Inside their gated mansion they can live the party life at their leisure, including booze, drugs, and sex (topless girls in bed the morning after is why the video isn't posted here). But there's a constant debate: is fame worth it? It means you're loved - but only as an object to be captured. Fame and wealth can't give you the love you really want - the girl in orange that Adam Levine dreams of and is rejected by. It means you can always escape into vice - but that doesn't fill you.

The Meaning of Don't Wanna Know: It's a post break up anthem to the girl you wanted but didn't get - the accusation is that she dumped you for someone else who was just more exciting sexually - Kendrick Lamar's lyrics are explicit with vulgar references to genitalia. However, the music video brings out the reason why she left. Your fame and money didn't win her heart. And the fact that Adam Levine's character progressevely deteriorates as he tries to forget her - from yoga to threesomes and hangovers - only suggests that she was right to leave. Fame and money can't buy love. But that doesn't stop lots of people from trying.

Ask yourself: If what you want is actually true love, why do you keep trying alcohol, drugs, and sex?

LYRICS:

Oh hey
Oh, oh hey
Oh, oh, oh hey
Uh oh, uh oh

I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know

Wasted (wasted)
And the more I drink the more I think about you
Oh no, no, I can't take it
Baby every place I go reminds me of you

Do you think of me
Of what we used to be?
Is it better now
That I'm not around?
My friends are actin' strange
They don't bring up your name
Are you happy now?
Are you happy now?

I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know

And every time I go out, yeah
I hear it from this one, I hear it from that one
That you got someone new, yeah
I see but don't believe it
Even in my head you're still in my bed
Maybe I'm just a fool

Do you think of me
Of what we used to be?
Is it better now
That I'm not around?
My friends are actin' strange
They don't bring up your name
Are you happy now?
Are you happy now?

I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know

[Kendrick Lamar:]
No more “please stop”
No more hashtag boo'd up screenshots
No more tryna make me jealous on your birthday
You know just how I make it better on your birthday, oh
Do he do you like this, do he woo you like this?
Do he lay it down for you, touch your p--na like this?
Matter of fact, never mind, we gon' let the past be
Maybe his right now, but your body's still with me, whoa

I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know

Oh hey
Oh, oh hey
Oh, oh, oh hey
Uh oh, uh oh
