I Feel It Coming - The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk

The Experience: Is it love or is it less? I Feel It Coming explores the ambivalence to so many relationships that promise intimacy and healing, but deliver only sex and more brokenness...

Music video: The Weeknd sings his heart out, trying to melt her heart (in this case, body) of stone. The sun comes out, and she turns back into flesh and blood... but only until the sun is eclipsed. Then her body turns back into stone, and the real her - a viper - slithers off into the sand. The Weeknd falls to his knees, and turns to stone himself, crumbling as he reaches out to touch what never could be. Snow covers the dead scene. Later - years later? - Daft Punk arrive and discover a strange purple glow under the ice. Was The Weeknd's love too self-centered to heal her? Or was she a predator feeding on The Weeknd's misplaced desire? We only know it didn't end well.

The Meaning of I Feel It Coming: The Weeknd offers healing for her wounds. The diagnosis reveals scars - you've been scared of love and what it did to you, you don't have to run I know what you've been through. The tender and then feel good vibe offers understanding and care and respect. That's how the lyrics start - you can take your time. But then the lyrics jump straight to sex. The problem is that sex doesn't heal wounds. Relationships do. And only if they're respectful, understanding and committed.

Ask yourself: Why does injustice exist? Why do we let it?

LYRICS:

[The Weeknd]
Tell me what you really like
Baby I can take my time
We don't ever have to fight
Just take it step-by-step
I can see it in your eyes
Cause they never tell me lies
I can feel that body shake
And the heat between your legs

You've been scared of love and what it did to you
You don't have to run, I know what you've been through
Just a simple touch and it can set you free
We don't have to rush when you're alone with me

I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe

You are not the single type
So baby, this the perfect time
I'm just trying to get you high
And faded off this touch
You don't need a lonely night
So baby, I can make it right
You just got to let me try
To give you what you want

You've been scared of love and what it did to you
You don't have to run, I know what you've been through
Just a simple touch and it can set you free
We don't have to rush when you're alone with me

[The Weeknd and Daft Punk]
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe

[The Weeknd]
You've been scared of love
And what it did to you
You don't have to run
I know what you've been through
Just a simple touch
And it can set you free
We don't have to rush
When you're alone with me

[The Weeknd and Daft Punk]
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I know what you feel right now
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I know what you say right now, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I know what you say right now, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe

[Daft Punk]
I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, babe
