Feel It Still - Portugal. The Man

The Experience: We could wait until the walls come down... but, oh until it falls won't bother me... Apathy. I. Don't. Care.

Music video: John Gourley staggers into a junkyard where the American dream - the stars and stripes painted tow truck - rusts away. He doesn't care. However, there is also a second interactive video with hidden links - listed on Portugal. The Man's website feelitstill.com - to ways they think people can still make a difference. That transforms a study in apathy into social commentary: nothing in life - especially not apathy - should be done just for kicks. You have to care.

The Meaning of Feel It Still: The lyrics explore mind numbing bored apathy - I'm a rebel just for kicks now. Sex is boring and gets shelved - can't keep my hands to myself, think I'll dust them off , put 'em back up on the shelf. Children are a bore - you leave them with a baby sitter or worse call the grave digger. The tedium becomes what you're used to, and you'll fight anything, even the pull of your ideals and beliefs, just to stay comfortably aimless - fight a war for peace, give in to that easy living, goodbye to my hopes and dreams. start flipping for my enemies. You go belly up and surrender - start flipping for my enemies and won't bother me.

Ask yourself: Where do you find meaning? Is there meaning? Do you find it in social activism like Portugal. The Man suggests? Is there anything deeper?

Album: Woodstock (2017)

LYRICS:

Can't keep my hands to myself
Think I'll dust 'em off, put 'em back up on the shelf
In case my little baby girl is in need
Am I coming out of left field?

Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
I been feeling it since 1966, now
Might be over now, but I feel it still
Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
Let me kick it like it's 1986, now
Might be over now, but I feel it still

Got another mouth to feed
Leave it with a baby sitter, mama, call the grave digger
Gone with the fallen leaves
Am I coming out of left field?

Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
I been feeling it since 1966, now
Might've had your fill, but you feel it still
Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
Let me kick it like it's 1986, now
Might be over now, but I feel it still

We could fight a war for peace
(Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now)
Give in to that easy living
Goodbye to my hopes and dreams
Start flipping for my enemies
We could wait until the walls come down
(Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now)
It's time to give a little to the
Kids in the middle, but, oh until it falls
Won't bother me

Is it coming?
Is it coming?
Is it coming?
Is it coming?
Is it coming?
Is it coming back?

Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, yeah
Your love is an abyss for my heart to eclipse, now
Might be over now, but I feel it still

Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
I've been feeling it since 1966, now
Might be over now, but I feel it still
Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
Let me kick it like it's 1986, now
Might be over now, but I feel it still
Might've had your fill, but I feel it still
