Make Him Wait - Abby Anderson

The Experience:"Make him wait.” You are priceless and should never settle for less than total commitment from the person you love. It can be scary, challenging that person to man up and commit, because “a boy's gonna run but a real man's gonna stay. Girl, make him wait”. Don’t settle for less.

Music video: In the music video we follow a young lady through a relationship where she follows all the advice that Abby gives us in this song. She is clearly enamored with the young man, but she values herself as a woman and is not afraid to make him work to be worthy of her. He is also the perfect gentleman he comes to the door to pick her up in person, opens the door for her, lets her walk on the inside of the sidewalk, does not answer the phone while he is out with her, actually talks to and listen to her, and more.

The Meaning of Make Him WaitMake Him Wait is about respecting yourself as a woman. Many guys are just there to take without commitment. Don’t settle for that. Challenge us guys to man up and commit to you for the long haul. If he cuts and runs it will hurt terribly, but he was never worthy of you anyway. Make him wait “at the door to meet your dad”, make him wait because “before that first kiss, he's gotta hold your hand”. Could it scare him away? Well, yes it could because “a boy's gonna run but a real man's gonna stay.” Yet, “when you find the one, the staying kind, then he won't mind.” And it will have been worth the wait.

Ask yourself: Do you belive you are worth waiting for? I hope you do, because it is the one of the deepest truths of who you are, don't be afraid embrace it and make him wait. You are worth it.

Album: Make Him Wait (2018)

LYRICS:

When he calls you
You don't have to answer right away
Make him wait
And when he small talks
Before he asks you on a date
Make him wait
When his Pontiac's in the driveway
And his eyes are midnight blue
Take a deep breath
Do the opposite of what you wanna do

Make him wait
By the phone
At the door to meet your dad
Before that first kiss, he's gotta hold your hand
You can't get it back when you give yourself away
Yeah a boy's gonna run but a real man's gonna stay
Girl, make him wait
Make him wait

And when he says that
It'd be easier if you just stay the night
Make him wait
You're gonna wanna
And you're thinking you just might
But make him wait

Make him wait
By the phone
At the door to meet your dad
Before that first kiss, he's gotta hold your hand
You can't get it back when you give yourself away
Yeah a boy's gonna run but a real man's gonna stay
Girl, make him wait
Make him wait

They taught me love is worth the weight in gold
Like that ring on your hand
So when you find the one
The staying kind
Then he won't mind

If you make him wait
In his tux
Cello sings you down the aisle
Walk slow, take your time
While your daddy cries and your momma smiles
When they're throwing rice into the air
And those tin cans roll away
And you look into his eyes
And realize it was worth the while
To make him wait
Make him wait
